Petite Hooded Vixen Corset
The Petite Hooded Vixen was created specifically for women with very short torsos who love the look of a structured Renaissance bodice but often find that traditional corsets poke, dig, or simply feel too tall through the waist and ribs.
While many corsets are built with 12" front busks and 11–12" side bones, the Petite Hooded Vixen features a shorter 10" front structure with 9" side bones. This allows the corset to provide beautiful shaping and support while remaining comfortable on shorter frames.
The pattern follows the same flattering Vixen silhouette our customers love, featuring supportive shoulder straps, a dramatic attached hood, and carefully curved seams designed to enhance your natural shape. The shorter length helps prevent the corset from pushing into the hips or ribcage when sitting, making it an excellent option for petite figures, shorter waists, or anyone who finds standard corsets overwhelming.
Like all of our corsets, the Petite Hooded Vixen is built for durability as well as beauty. The front contains sturdy fiberglass rods for support, while the back and sides feature spring steel boning to help maintain shape and create a smooth silhouette. Fit Notes:
The Petite Hooded Vixen is approximately 2" shorter than many of our standard corset styles. Because of this, it offers a bit less lower-back coverage than our longer designs, but many petite customers find the tradeoff well worth it for the improved comfort and fit.
Measuring:
Measure your waist at the smallest part of your torso (usually above the belly button) while holding the measuring tape snugly. This gives us the most accurate starting point for sizing.
If you are especially blessed in either the bust or hip department, we generally recommend sizing up one inch from your snug waist measurement to allow for comfortable shaping throughout the entire garment.
About Our Size Ranges:
Our corsets are designed to be worn either fully closed or with a small lacing gap.
For example, a corset listed as fitting a 35"–37" waist actually measures 35" when pulled completely taut. Someone with a 35" waist can wear it fully closed, while someone with a 36" or 37" waist can comfortably wear it with a small gap in the back lacing. This flexibility allows each corset size to accommodate a range of body shapes while maintaining a beautiful silhouette.
